Hi guys, My 2008 1098 will be for sale shortly, just waiting for it to come back from the dealer with the standard shock on it. (Ohlins sold on another thread). Supplied by Ducati Manchester April last year. They were original dealer who supplied the bike to first owner. I am second owner. Mileage is less than 2,000. Shockingly I have only managed to cover about 200 miles in just over a year! Has been kept garaged and on an optimate. Full Ducati (Manchester) service history. Condition as you would expect from such a low mileage bike. It still has the original ducati stickers on the tank etc. I have all the documents, keys, Mot's, Service history etc. Price, photos, any details I have forgotten to follow in full classified ad. Bike is on the wirral, Nr Liverpool/Chester.
Thanks bud, its with heavy heart its going thats for sure. Just cant justify a bike to sit there and be looked at and when I take it out I am not relaxed thinking the worst will happen as I'm not comfortable on it. Would prefer her to go to someone who will make good use
200 miles what did you do, ride it home there and back for a service and back again to put it back to standard!!
Good luck with the sale - whoever buys will be a happy bunny indeed. I never really evolved from the 996 era myself, spending way too much money on RS-ing 996 and 998 bikes. Chopped the 998 and got a 1098 instead lately, initially intended for trackdays, I felt it was a shame not to use on the road too given the little track activity I am managing these days, so converted it to road for now. Got to say, what a bike the 1098 is. Tight like a race bike, massively grunty, very lively revving too and I cannot stop thinking how pretty it is too. The 70mm system is outrageously loud but addictive. I don't really recommend riding in town because it cooks your backside and fuel consumption is a bit shocking but on the pure riding pleasure, I cannot fault that bike. You had to do a lot to a 996 to get it to a good level. With the 1098 it is just there. put fuel in it and ride it hard.
