  5. Thanks guys I will do some digging around, are these simple to fit with hand tools or do I need a bearing press ?

  6. Bearing press - but you can make your own. Threaded bar, some nuts to match, some large washers/spacers (same size as outer diameter of bearings) to pull them in.

  7. try 'chris yeatman' on ukmoc, hes in the middle of changing his, i think the bearings were from main dealer?

  8. If they aren't taper roller bearings, thump the centre race out of the old bearings.

When the old ones are out, use the old outer race with large thick washers and a threaded rod as supervee says....alternatively, just use the old outer against the new bearing and gently tap it into place.....

...alternate the contact point with the hammer 180 degrees (and 90) opposite the previous point.....You will feel / hear when they are right home against the bearing seat.

Put the new bearings in the freezer overnight and warm the inside of the headstock with a blowlamp before you put them in......you might even find they just drop in.
