Heavy Clutch

  1. so I have started project junior again and decided to get the clutch bleed up this evening. Having a dry clutch for the last 7 years I'm surprised how heavy it is compared to the dry clutch on the 750. Is it down to the new seals on the slave cylinder or is that just how the wet clutch's?

  2. Paul.......As you know I have a wet clutch...........I wouldn't say it was heavy, but then not light either..........Just 'easy' to use...

........but that is compared to a Guzzi Le Mans or a big Kawa, perhaps.....

  3. Thanks Al. It's very heavy, a lot more heavy than a ZZR1100. I haven't started it for a while, getting a bit if heat in it may help, I hope but as it is it won't be any good in town, unless I start eating a lot of spinach!

  4. My 750 SS had a much heavier clutch than the set up I have now on my 999 but I ve achieved that by taking out some of the doubled up plain plates, thus reducing the pre-load on the springs. However, my pSS clutch used to slip if not carefully managed, so I'm not sure an could recommend that route.
    Oberon slave??

  5. Paul....take your father's Lemon out for a few thousand miles............then you will feel what a heavy clutch is like.

  6. That Moto Guzzi is still just sat in the garden, done't even know if it would start, let alone if the clutch will work!

  7. Tell him I will swap it for my SS with spares....tomorrow...
