Hel Or Goodridge ?

  1. So I'm going to go race configuration with the front brake lines on the 1098R and both manufacturers are asking very similar money. Is it a case of 6 of 1 or half a dozen of the other or is there really a difference ? Andy

  2. And, has anyone used Venhill ? Andy

  3. One difference is that Goodridge is a large American corporation and Hel is a relatively small operation based in a small Devon village, so will appreciate your support that much more.

  5. Or you can confuse yourself some more by considering Venhill. They claim to have a superior connection arrangement which allows you to avoid any twisting of the hoses, because you fit them on after you have fitted the unions to master cylinders and calipers. I'm happy with mine (on a Suzuki, dual-hose "race" arrangement), and with the price and customer service. More on the fittings here:

  6. I use Hel on my track bike and with the double line setup on a 748R with the P4\34 calipers they use and odd connection on the master cylinder by using 90 degree bends, I have no idea why, but you may want to check out the actual lines first to see if fitment differs and it's what you want.

No problem with quality though and they have been on the bike for a few years now.

As for Venhill I think they are more into custom fitment\s and you can have custom lines made up using their web page as they have all the drop down menus set up to make ordering easy.

  7. Gentlemen, thankyou. I think I'm going to give Venhill a go. Andy

  8. I've got Hel ones on the Speed Triple and Venhill on the track bike. If I was buying again I'd be calling Venhill. Much nicer finish
