Hi everyone, Been a lurker for around a month since I collected my MTS. Having been an owner of a number of sports bikes over the last few years I like my performance but after an unfortunate accident last summer on a GSXR when a car pulled out in front of me from a side turning I started to worry that big sports bikes were too much for the road... After a "Long way up/down/round" phase born out of boredom, stuck on the sofa off work with a broken collarbone I briefly owned a BMW GSA and have to admit, rather enjoyed it. At 6ft 4 and 19st it was the first bike I had ever felt "fitted" me properly but it has an old man image (I'm only 31) and wasn't very sporty. Enter my shiny new Multistrada 1200, one word, WOW! what a machine, all the brutal performance of my superbikes with the comfort of the GS. People come up and ask about it, I love the noise, the looks and like the GS it just "fits" me perfectly. I now understand the whole Ducati thing, as an ownership experience it is totally different to anything I have owned before and I am proud to own it! Look forward to plundering your knowledge about upgrading and improving it over the next few years. Neill
Hi Neil, welcome to the forum, you've picked a popular bike there. Plenty of Multi owners on here with lots of useful tips. Chris
Welcome, and enjoy the bike. Used to just have trail/enduro bikes (and the odd cheap commuter), but after getting my 998s, I don't think I need another bike ever (well, maybe when I get proper old and my back and arms and shoulders and neck can't take the riding position any more - but then, there are duc options to cover when I do get proper old and decrepit!) Ride safe, Pete
