Hi there, Went for a test ride on a Multistrada recently and was blown away which wasn't that surprising since I've been recovering from a bit of an off (hence profile picture) for 4 years! Anyway, what a bike! Went to my local dealer this afternoon to have a chat and ordered a Touring as a result. Should be picking her up later next week hopefully in time for a wee trip to the Ulster Grand Prix - can't wait. Looking forward to getting to know you all as time goes by and I'll get some pics posted once she arrives. For AndyW, Hope you don't mind me copying your idea for the profile picture? I had a frame fitted to my arm and know some of what you went through. Maybe we could start up a Ducati Ilizarov Owners Club? On second thoughts......... Mark. PS. You guys may already know this but I nearly forgot to mention - apparently Ducati announced a new deal today? They are offering two different free packages/incentives worth about £1k each on new buys of the S version. Can't remember the details of the other one rolleyes but I opted for the free Top Box, Ducati Sat Nav and Touring Screen package. Couldn't believe my luck.
Welcome to the club Mark! Good to see you have got rid of your meccano set! I am sure you will be happy with your new toy! Keep us posted! Ps Mark which part of the uk is home for you?
Welcome and well done on the extras package, oh and great choice of bike! There's plenty of Multi owners on here and I'm sure they can give you any help/advice should you need it.
Thanks for welcomes guys - appreciated. I bought my bike from Millsport here in Northern Ireland. According to the Sales Rep the extras are one of two freebie Ducati 'package' deals that came out on Saturday. I can't for the life of me remember what the other package consisted of but it might have been designed for the Sport? I don't think this was a local deal as the guy had already offered a decent discount on the price?
Hi Mark and welcome to the forum. Glad to see you got back on the horse after your off. That amount of scaffold would be enough to put a load of people off! .
Welcome aboard son. Gutsy effort to get back in the saddle after an injury like that. Take it real easy in Sport or Touring until you get some (riding) strength back. Sport will, well....Sport will give an injury like that a hiding. Take it easy which is very hard to do when your tail is wagging on your brand spankers Mutley
Cheers for the welcome and the wise words. I've been steadily building the strength up in the arm but it is always going to be weaker than normal (and 4cm shorter!) so it'll definitely be 'steady as she goes' and no visits to the Mountain Section in the Isle of Man for quite a while. Two days to go!
Info; The Extreme Touring kit includes a Zumo Sat Nav, smoked screen and top box and luggage rack. The Extreme Sports kit includes a smoked screen, carbon front mudguard and carbon silencer.
No worries...great to know I'm in good company! lol "Ilizarov Owners Club" .........not being snobby or anything but posh Taylor Spatial Frame with adjustable struts for me  (derived from......the Ilizarov frames) As for a club!.......we really don't want to encourage others! lol (not something I'd wish on my enemies let alone anyone else!!)......as they say....it's not big, it's not clever.....but I guess kinda cool in a warped kinda way I saw your comment re the 'remote' indicator LED's........maybe start a new thread here with more details..........I hope you made notes and took photos as you went!
Hi Andy, Taylor Spatial eh? Far too posh for me mate  Got to agree with you though - I wouldn't wish the damn thing on anyone either but the x-ray pics do catch the eye... Not sure about the last sentence above ref LED's? Is that for someone else as I haven't posted anywhere other this thread and on the main page? Pick up the multi tomorrow evening so will get some pics into the Gallery by the end of the weekend hopefully. All the best, Mark
Ooops, crossed wires....yes the LED thing was someone else....but you know that! lol Have a great weekend with the new bike
