Hello Forum, Long Time Lurker Here...

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Naranja, Apr 26, 2017.

  1. Hello Forum, I can't believe this is pretty much my first post, I'm shy you see.

Been a member and lurking here for ages. It's been a very useful place to visit, watch and learn.

On my second MTS 1200, latest is a beautiful 2013 Pikes Peak. I love these bikes despite their little foibles.

Also own an S1000RR, a KTM Super Duke 1290 and a GSXR1000 K5 track bike (currently poorly with a QS problem).

Hope to contribute more, apologies for my tardiness.

    Regards

    Andy

  11. Hi Wayne, the SDR is a complete laugh, you can't take it seriously in the slightest, as it seems you've discovered! Sport mode is essential. It always makes me smile, unless I'm riding into a headwind. The torque is incredible and handling pretty decent. Standard can is horrible in appearance and sound, I have the Akra, can only, with baffles out it's about right. Also have plenty carbon, Fat Bars and single seat conversion, as well as a selection of Power Parts.

It's a Sunday morning blast bike or nice day when you need cheering up. I jump on it before the others as it's so easy. It has a slightly clunky gearbox and the front brakes rub and moan at very slow speeds (they all do that, etc).

It is actually pretty comfortable, just the complete lack of protection that can be tiring. It's a keeper I think and I can't see myself ever getting rid of it.

I'm jealous of the QS and dash on the 17 model but not enough to change it.

All in all, I recommend it, but not as an only bike.
