Hi all. I'm in my sixties and recently decided to get back into motor bikes after not riding for many years. I've had a long interest in cars and am also a keen cyclist, both mountain and road. I looked at Honda (CBR400RR - way too racy a riding position for my ageing body) and Suzuki (SV650S), but a mate with a 900SS and a long association with Italian cars (Fiats, numerous Alfa Romeos, one Ferrari) led me inevitably to Ducati - 2007 Monster 695, purchased yesterday and to be collected in a day or two. Next challenge will be to stay rubber side down, unlike my mate with the 900, who is nursing a broken collarbone but is more concerned about the cosmetic damage to the bike.
