Delighted to be part of the Ducati community here. I have just paid for a deposit for this 2013 Multistrada 1200s (12,400 miles) and look forward to collect it in a week time. After my test ride two Multistrada (2010 and 2013) I am very impressed with the engine: very powerful and responsive (especially in Sport mode). Steering is light and the bike feels very agile especially compare to my old GS. However I do find I need to change down gears at low rpm for town riding and both bikes suffer the same commonly know rear brake issue (sponge). The down pipe looks rusty and I wonder if there is any advice for cleaning it up please?
Welcome to the forum. Your twin spark will not be happy below 3000rpm in any gear other than 1st or 2nd. You are looking at 40/45mph before changing into 3rd. Characteristic of a high revving twin. A common mod is to put a 14 tooth sprocket on the front. Not perfect but better. Hope you enjoy. Andy
Thanks for the tips. I guess it is its engine characteristics, I did notice that going faster is better. Looking forward to enjoying this new experience.
The downpipe may not be rusty, as the exhaust takes on a reddish-brown dirt crust if often ridden in the wet and not cleaned Hello and welcome; in Liverpool too..
Welcome AC, I do hope you're not into air-conditioning as we have a member like that already. Nice bike, enjoy.
