  1. Hi,

I've fallen in love with the 1198S and Im finding it very hard to get one here in Spain. I'm currently evaluating the possibility of purchasing one in the UK from a dealer. ¿What do you guys recommend?

    -Thanks,
    Fabricio

  2. Hola Davide

  3. Welcome to the forum fabricio. Quite a lot of bikes are being exported out of the UK these days, so it shouldn't be too hard to organise. Good luck with it.

  4. how do fabrico.

  5. Hello and welcome! Enjoy the ride home!

  6. hi and welcome ,
i know i had friend who wanted to import an english car into spain (so it had Spanish plates and insurance). it looked to be expensive and massive pain
If you have not looked into this then i suggest you checked what the costs and processes are before you buy

as to buying form a dealer, some are always better than others and as your looking for specific model then it will more likely come down to to the bike you find rather the dealer you choose.
good luck with your search, there are always nice bikes for sale if you look hard enough

  7. My girlfriend is Spanish ( family in Madrid, Bejar and Salamanca ) and I've sold a car to someone in Spain a few years ago. It was a massive pain to get registered and it took a envelope full of cash to make it happen. Ive seen loads of ducatis whenever I'm there so I'm sure if you look hard enough.

  8. Hi and welcome.

Aren't Radical based in Madrid? Maybe they could help you source one locally?

  9. I'm thinking it's something to do with the weather because in summer the was a bunch available. I just didn't have the drivers license yet.

  10. Hola

Does that mean your first 'road' bike will be an 1198?

I am sure you could get one in Spain, but if you do import one read the VAT411 papers carefully first.

The latest Ducatis are basically the same in nearly all Euro countries so should need no modifications.

  11. I had a Kawasaki ninja 6r in the states for 2 years and in Spain to get a normal bike you have to go through 2 years of limited bikes (250cc).

  14. Hi,

Well it seem it was just not meant to be. I've been looking for 3 months with no success. So I'm giving up and moving on.

So I found a great deal on a new 1199 with ABS. Problem is insurance is crazy expensive.

    Any advice or comments welcomed.

    -Thanks,
    Fabricio
