Hello Moorland Monster here - been riding my Ducati for a year after getting my licence a little later than I suspect most of you (42), and my Monster is my first bike. I hadn't considered a Ducati when looking for a bike, but I just looked to see what was available locally and found this bike at Ducati Stoke. I'm absolutely in love with it have managed to do 3K miles in my first year, and looking to double that over the next 12 months. Mostly ride locally in the Peak District, sometimes venturing across Cheshire, Shropshire and into North Wales. Been lurking the forum for a little while and decided to join up. Looking forward to hopefully contributing something useful, talk about Ducatis and also document some of the mods I'm planning to do over the next year or so. Cheers MM
Welcome into our mad house I was 40 when I got my licence straight into ducati with a 600SS Why not I like a challenge
Welcome, I spent many years visiting Knypersley, I suspect not too far from you. Some great roads on your doorstep. Consider getting yourself some advanced training with your local RoSPA or IAM groups it will help you reap the rewards of those fantastic peaks.
i was 50 when i got UK licence 3000 in a year is good, ive done the same, so you must be out regularly
Yes, I know Knypersley well, having grown up in nearby Brown Edge, and I quite often go through there on my way to Manchester. I am indeed considering giving the IAM a go, I used to work with a guy who was an instructor before I got into bikes, but he told me all about it.
I'm doing my best with it, we have some great roads around here, plus I regularly work in Manchester, Nottingham and the West Midlands so where possible I got on the bike.
Welcome, I rode a Monster 821 Stipe for two years and loved it, a good choice and I hope you enjoy may more happy miles on it.
Thankyou - I know Eccleshall, I quite often go through there when I'm heading out into Shropshire - A519 is quite a nice road to ride on too. Let me know if you're up for a coffee, would be good to meet up with some local owners.
Sure thing, I'm literally just off the A519, as you say it's a cracking road, in fact whichever way I head off from home I'm instantly faced with a difficult choice of which great road to go down.
Great - I've got a bit of time off end of this month/start of next so I'll drop you a line a bit closer to then
