Hello From Sw London – Multistrada Time!

  1. Hi everyone,

It's been 3 years since I first rode a Multistrada 1200 and remember being blown away by it. It's taken some time but I've finally taken a few brave pills and got one of my own!

It's a 2013 MTS 1200S Touring with 12k miles, a Puig screen (I think…) and top box. I've only had it a few days but have done 500 miles on it and am loving every moment. My bike history is:

2006 Honda Blackbird (for two years)
2011 Triumph Speed Triple (for 18 months)
    2010 Triumph Daytona 675 (for 12 months)
2009 Triumph Street Triple (my first bike - had for 12 months).

Obviously I needed a twin in my life and it's living up to every expectation I had – so to that end it has a broken fuel sender, the left heated grip seems a bit intermittent and I couldn't be happier. It rolled over 12,000 miles on the A3/M25 slip road with the front wheel not entirely on the ground…

I was this <-> close to buying a KTM 1190 Adventure but am glad I didn't now – it just didn't have anywhere near the grin-inducing low-down shunt of the 1198cc motor.

The only plans I have for it are to get the girlfriend to go around Europe with me on it, and to hit the continent as much as possible over the summer. It'll be due the big service at the end of the summer, so I'll be putting some pennies away for that too…

  3. Welcome London Dude :upyeah:

  4. Hello and welcome, looks good with that screen and will sound good with any exhaust but they need a de-cat to liberate the V-twin noise, it's not like my Street Triple, slapped a can on and the local dealer uploaded the arrow map for free when they serviced it.

  5. Thanks everyone! I'm still impressed by the noise from the stock exhaust, and a full Termi is sadly out of my price bracket right now! I may look into de-cat link pipes and possibly a Termi end can though, as well as a remap. For now I'll likely leave it as is because I'm still in the honeymoon/accidental wheelie phase…

  6. Once you want deliberate wheelies you can change the rear sprocket for about £100, speedo reads from the ABS IIRC so it won't affect the accuracy of that.

  7. Welcome, good to hear from another multi owner from SW London. Regarding the sprocket upgrade I couldn't agree more.

  8. Welcome....from a serious MUTLEY fan...four and counting.

  9. Welcome daveywaveywoowoo :)
