Good day, I'm a newbie, my name is lewis I'm from Ashford in Kent (UK) Sound like I'm putting in an advert for a dating site. I've just bought a 2010 Ducati 848 with 6k miles with FSH upto 1k ago, but bought the bike blind, crazy I know, but I've always wanted one and the price was right. its being delivered to me this Wednesday, any chance for some tips to what I should check. I have bought this from a dealer so I do have some level of protection (as long as I'm quick)
Welcome in is it an 'Evo' model? We will need pics ;-) On mine I found the essential mods were a Oberon clutch slave cylinder which made a big difference, and a grippy Ducati performance seat.
I want to change the colour...... to yellow like my profile picture. even though the bike comes with FSH I'm doubting that the belts would have been changed. bike only done 6k miles but I believe they need to be changed every two years? I don't have a problem changing the belt myself but I also believe they have to be set at 110htz (what's that all about) why not 1/4 turn way? what tools are required? anyway any info you can provide will very much be appreciated
Welcome, depends which belts, 100Hz for ours www.exactUK.com - DucatiTech Instructional Video's http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/exact-fit-timing-belts-forum-subscriber-discount.38123/
Nice one thanks. I'm going to wait until bike arrives tomorrow, give it a good check over and make a list. I'll probably order from you at end of month. Now to buy a sound tool (don't have a laptop for a mic) any recommendations?
:Jawdrop: Black to yellow it should be red :Locktopic: Alert alert newbie hello and welcome into the mad house Some bloke on here sells belts can't think of his name
Phone app, gates carbon drive. Available on Android or iPhone, just get a cheap plug in mic for a fiver.
Well I got it earlier and it looks so much nicer in the flesh. Got straight on it and went for a blast. Didn't go mental as I was getting the feel for it. But definitely impressed. Checked history and it had a full service including belts 30/4/2015 and 1k ago. It's been well looked after. Very happy
