Hi all! The oil cooler on my 1999 996 became holed during a ride out at the weekend. I wonder whether anybody has had to replace one on their 996 recently, and if so, where they bought one from? I have looked on Ducati's parts site, and can see it's no longer a part they carry, so wondered whether there's a good specialist I can try, whether oil coolers from other models are a straight-forward fit, or whether anybody can recommend a very good aftermarket option? Thanks in advance!
I had a cruise through the classifieds, and are a bit scarse s/h. Glad you are adaptable as non std will probably be easier. 1098 fits apparently but might mean different hoses. @Nelson ?
And once you get a new one, put a mesh guard on both it and your rad. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/30292103915...ZRWeUWkSIW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I used 1098 ones, but fitted to 1098 engine, albeit in a 916 frame. Is there not a generic one that would fit? I think @bettes may have fitted a 1098 one to his 998...
I used a T9 one I think. Had to adapt a hanger to suit but can’t remember much else. The one good thing about this is that you can use the 848 evo or others, oil lines so you can keep the oil pressure sensor off the engine block.
