I really hope.. to find som adwise here!! I about to buy some 848 Marchesini wheels for my 916... I dont like my old 3 spoke any more. I tried to find the necesary info... for doing that... but i still have som qeistions -I found out... that the rear wheel... is plug and play... I need nu other parts than my stock... is that correckt??? - I know that there need some work to do.. for fitting the frontwheel... in my showa forks and 916 brakes... and I also know that i cant use my old tacho anymore... no problem.. because I want a Koso RX2 tacho anyways - I can get a set of 848 rotors together with the rims.... but I dont think I can use them... because they are 15mm offset... and my 916 calibers are 10 mm offset., and my rotors from my old rims doesnt fit the 848 wheels because they are 5 and 6 holes.. is that correct???????? Is the only solution to buy another rotors with 5 holes and 10mm offset. and 320 mm...and just put on???? If yes.... what rotors fit these specs??... - and then I need som spacers for the axel... because of the missing tacho... is there som place to buy som premade spaces... or do I have to getting someone to make them??? any suggestions?? What about the axel... can I use my old one?? or do I need another????
hi calle , ive done this first with standard brakes then with radial fork/ brakes, if you,re ok with your forks / brakes all you need is a spacer for the wheel, and some 10mm offset 5 bolt rotors , this took me ages to find and 3 sets of discs sent by people who got the offset wrong. i still have these if you re interested. second speedo is fairly straight foward this was my effort. set in original speedo. spindle and nuts can be kept. . hope this helps, arle
I think.. what "final edition" want to say... is that when I want to use stock 848 rotors... I have to machine down the calibers with 5 mm... because then they will go out on 15 mm offset But when I use... other 10 mm rotors like "arlechino".. is no need to machine down right????????
No need to machine down. But if you do you can use 15mm offset discs also 10mm offset discs with 5mm spacers between calipers and forks.
I think you are wrong on that... if I put 5 mm spacers between calibers and forks.. nothing will fit.... because then I need rotors with 5mm offset... because I pushing the calibers in.. from 10 mm offset to 5 mm ;-) right??
Wheres the bang head smiley? Use5mm spacers after macining calipers down 5mm. Will allow you to revert back to 10mm offset discs if you want to. Dont use spacers after machining calipers 5mm will let you use 15mm discs.
