Probably stretching it to call this a “build” or a “project, but here goes. I bought this camera mount from Evotech who have been brilliant in helping out. Now I need to ask the Forum for help. In my mind I need a couple of 40mm long, 5mm internal diameter “tubes” to support my mount so it clears the top tree. I accept I am the engineering equivalent of Homer Simpson, so any contribution is welcome.
Obviously I’m not a city banker but can’t you just measure what length you want your tubes what the outside diameter needs to be what the internal diameter needs to be and order them from an eBay seller.. So OD ID Length eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16696435...ar=466649848977&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
See, I knew you would have the answer. Aluminium stand off spacers. Brilliant. Any time you want to buy some high risk, no return derivatives, let me know Cheers mate.
Surprising enough I've always found B & Q good for the sort of metal bits & pieces needed for jobs like that. But they don't necessarily need to be metal either, a plastic tube would be just as strong in that (compression) scenario.
Doesn’t the original kit use a Female to Male Standoff? Much neater solution. Something like this (was the top of the page after searching, not used them personally). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/39500887...ar=663585222866&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Probably wobble like f@@k once the camera is mounted. I would replace the spacers with a solid block with two holes for the bolts. You can make a prototype from wood to see if there is an improvement.
