I can't seem to get any universal LED indicators to work on thee front of the bike. Any idea why guys?
If it's a Hypermotard, I assume it came with LED indicators as standard. It is important to connect them the right way round - unlike light bulbs, LEDs only allow current to pass in one direction. You should safely be able to try with the connections reversed, and you could also test by connecting the indicator to a battery, and then at the wiring loom connection use a voltmeter to see what happens when you flick the indicator switch.
OK , MY 2012 hyper had bulbs, yep bulbs need connecting correct way, not sure on LEDs , little i know on LED indicators is without resistor will flash fast or not at all, if you connected straight to battery with resistor , should work
If the LED indicators are OK, they will work (light up solid) when connected to a battery without any resistor, as long as they are the right way round. The resistor is used in parallel with the LED indicator to mimic the current drawn by a conventional bulb, where the indicator system needs that. It looks as if there may be a way to ge tthe Hypermotard system to work with LEDs without resistors, if you take a look at this thread, but it's out of my range of experience! Cheers for the replies guys, the indicators work when connected onto the battery (solid light) nothing when connected to the front connectors. Looks like I will have to go the resistor route.
There is a service menu which allows you to turn on "LED Indicators". I tried it on mine (1100S) but still couldn't get it to work so just added resistors instead!
