HI, just want to know what year they changed the colour of the aluminum clutch covers on the early 916 series and if this is an early one?
yeah its an early one in the pic, but i'm not sure on the colour? I'm away from home and seem to remember mine being more of a drab green.
Well I'll find out in a couple of weeks if its the correct colour, I won the ebay bid. only paid £38 and it was taken of a bike from new and has been in storage since 1992.
916 production did not start until 94 so that answers whether it was an early 916 one. Also stock clutch covers on 916/748s are normally painted steel. I think the later 851s had silver clutch covers, perhaps that is what it is from
My 916 foggy (996) 1998 has the aluminium cover same as this, but it's the colour that I'm unsure about. It's just difficult to tell from a photo
