Help with correct fork oil gap

Discussion in 'Monster' started by jay26, Aug 26, 2013.

  1. Iv looked all over the internet with conflicting advice as to what weight oil and air gap should go into the m900 43mm non adjustable forks.
Does anyone have the manual with correct info on this?
    Thanks jay.

  2. According to the Ducati service manual (I have a pdf copy if you want) they should have 457cc of 'SS8' ? oil with an air gap of 79.4mm.

  3. A copy would be great, thanks Dukedesmo
Forgive me but what weight oil is ss8?
Also has anyone used Pyramid or Athena fork seal and if so they any good?

  4. i think ss8 is 10w

  5. Am I right in thinking that the oil level should be measured with the spring out?

  6. Yes. Normally all fork oils are measured with the spring out. Also make sure you pump the stanchion a few times to get rid of any air pockets.
