Is this the British Expeditionary Force all over again? The UK is to send a "full battle group" of 1,350 military personnel to Poland for a major exercise, it has been announced. BBC News - UK 'battle group' to go to Poland I had better see if my little fishing boat is seaworthy.
I dont think 1,350 troops will need your wee boat. They can get the ferry from Calais like the rest of us.
.....or walk through the Tunnel....(assuming the tanks haven't already rolled through in the opposite direction first)....
It's OK.......they will all be solicitors or lawyers, so if anyone gets hurt, they can introduce a claim......
We used to send Battle Group+ sized units to Poland EVERY year, to train at a place called Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area, Poland. I went there for about 4 years on the trot, great area, but a little small to fully use a BG. Nearly all units from Germany, moving by road and Train.
No news here. An exercise of this size would of been planned some time ago, not in response to the Ukraine situation.
