Hey There....

  1. Long time Ducati fanatic here, since my first, a 1979 900SS, bought in 1981. Have had many since then, and still have 3, and other bikes to.
Haven't been active in Ducati world for many years, for many reasons, but have made a decision to get my 3 back on the road, starting with my 450 SCR. Bought in 1988, from it's first owner and in running although slightly scruffy condition. Shamefully, it hasn't turned a wheel since I bought it!

So, I need to get back upto speed with parts suppliers for the older stuff etc, as many of the contacts on my list from back in the day seem to have disappeared!

So, glad that this forum is here and looking forward to making new friends. I'm in the West Mids area.

And oh dear, I seem to have been infected with a new Ducati lust, for a 1299 Panigale! Last of the twins!

Oh yeah, if any of the old crowd from IMOC York, and the DOC, same area see this, give me a shout!

  2. A severe case of Ducati infection can be both rewarding and costly.
    :)
    Welcome to the forum.

  3. I have the T shirt on both counts! I've never been without a Ducati since that 900SS, which I deeply regret selling!

    Cheers!

  8. Probably surprisingly for many I don't have any phone cam pix of my Ducati's, due to lack of access predating phone cams! I do have some 'proper' photos, so I will have to copy those in order to upload them. Unfortunately, I have VERY few of the SS before I converted it to an NCR replica! This was due to dropping it in France on the way back from the Bol'Dor. At the time I was obsessed with NCR Ducati's and hatched a plan to build my own, which involved convincing the insurance company that the frame was bent after the drop in France, thus requiring a total re-build! Which I was happy to do myself if they footed the bill for the parts, thus saving them the labour! They capitulated and I spent the money on lots of NCR replica parts, including a Verlichi frame! Engine mods had to wait due to lack of budget, but I did install an oil cooler and top mounted oil filter. I spent hundreds of hours on that bike and it looked superb when I'd finished, just in time to take it to the IMOC concours at Olivers Mount in Scarborough in I think 1984. I was convinced by some to enter into the concours, which I hadn't even thought of doing, which in the end was a good idea because it won best special Ducati judged by no less than Steve Wynn, who also presented the prize! Then, stupidly, I sold it!! Even more stupidly to buy a Honda! Although that was a CB1100RC, which I also later sold! Really wish I still had both, but especially the Ducati (NCR) SS. Would love to find it now and buy it back, so if anyone knows where it is, let me know. The reg number ends in 794V, and it is still on DVLA's system, still with the colour noted as Red.
