Was on Ducatisti and still on DUN, been about here for a while gleaning tech info and laughing at the funny sh*t that goes on here... Darren
Thanx all for the welcome And yeah the sheep are ok... love eating dead meat anyway... And yes I am mad living here as far canal the weather is proper shit... really fucts me off at times as I worked in tropics before coming over here. Long story short, it was a women that brought me over here and another that keeps me here... Dave, Timaru originally but moved about a bit finally ending up in Rarotonga before emigrating over here, had some mad bad friends that lived in Invercargill who used nick meat from the local freezing works that was bound for France, christ we ate well... Spent a lot of time growing up at Teretonga, Ruapuna and of course Levels raceways as dad used to rally and circuit race then later I mechaniced for my little bro at the national bike series where he did very well, raced at club level myself on an NC 30, great little bike that was. Up early nursing hangover, off for cupa now...
yeah proper bad barstar*d arent I ... The tea and banana sandwich hasnt really helped, might try a shower instead... Anyone in north fancy meeting up for ride when my head dries out?, we seem to have the weather now everyones off back to work, bloody typical. Darren.
Hi Darren, I used to corner marshall at the national points bike rounds at Teretonga from about 1991 until about 2003, so maybe I've seen you or your Bro' on track, got to know a few riders/mech's over that time, although haven't kept in touch now. Free meat from the 'works kept plenty of flats running back in the day, doesn't happen much now days tho'.
I would if I didn't have loads of work and family coming to stay. Whereabouts are you, for future reference?
Any of you Kiwis members of the Ducati clubs out there? I spent a week with Greg and Chris on the World Presidents Week and they were great guys!
Hi Darren, welcome. We met on the ride with Pete. Wish i had seen your post earlier as i've been out today for a ride. Next time perhaps.
Hi all, thanks again for welcome, sorry for late responce, been doing that silly working thing... Yeah you would have seen my little bro, he had a big off about 97ish running in formula 3 when entering front straight at Teretonga, he ran wide and had a fairly big one... had to patch it up between races with straightened and borrowed parts... He later went onto do very well in prod 600's and a few superbike races, he beat a number of works teams one year while running as a privateer, I think he finished second in championship from memory, he give it up a year or two later as it it was costing him every cent he earned...:frown:, real shame that..
