Well hello, obviously i'm new here, but not to Ducatis. I've got a big bored 996 SPS full of corse parts but i'm now stuck just at the end of my latest mod. I'm fitting some 60mm throttle bodies and was wondering if anyone else has? The fit into the standard inlet manifolds to a point, but these are tapered as they head towards the head, where the standard 50mm throttle bodies have a step which mates to corresponding half in the inlet rubber. If you've done it you'll know what i mean. I'm really over budget so cant just throw on 748 r inlets as suggested by a mate only to find another problem. Please any help would be appreciated before i just get the stanley out and butcher the original inlets and possibly ruin things totally. Thanks guys and gals, i've got a near factory bike now so if anyone needs advice on track mods i'm willing to help. Paul
Hello and welcome. Sounds like you'll have one nice bike when you've finished. i can't help you with your problem, but it might be worth re-posting this in the technical help section so it gets more views. matt
Welcome aboard, I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question. Have you asked advise from any dealers who race, like motoRapido?
Hi, and thanks. Yes i've asked a few and been told 748 R inlets might be what i need. The throttle bodies are so rare it's hard to get definate answers without shipping the bike around everywhere for it to be looked at. Thankfully this forum has been so helpfull i've got a few answers. Even some parts sat waiting for me to try. I've had Dukes for 15 years and should've joined here sooner. It's great.
Try giving these a bell, not much they dont know about ducati's BSD Performance – The home of motorcycle performance tuning
