Been a motorcyclist for years now. My good Dutch friend told me about this great forum. Back in the day, I had a 999 R when they first came out. Soon as I see the 999/749 I just fell in love with them. I bought the bike from the then Ducati Ashford, no idea if it's still there. I remember going with my then pregnant wife to test ride it. When we got there, they organised a sun lounger , parasol and cool soft drink on the forecourt for my wife. I then took off into the outback of Kent. I just couldn't believe how well it handled and rode. My wife enquired about the price tag and I pretended to ignore her question as I fear a divorce could of been on the cards, especially as a young one was on the way. Anyhow, had the bike for a number of years and then committed a cardinal sin. I sold it and bought an MV Agusta F4 1000. Within a month, I realised i made a drastic mistake, I longed for my 999 like a junky would long for his/her next fix. Anyhow, I sold the MV and returned back to road cycle racing. Anyhow, after all those years, I still have a burning for another. So I'm looking for a 749 R Mk11 and a re-entry into the Ducati fold.
