Hi All Just come over from the Honda 650f forums as I’ve just part ex’d the 21 CBR650R for a red 22 Ducati Panigale V2 ex Demo from Ducati Sheffield (thanks Tim/Josh). Probably won’t pick it up till the weather improves a bit but he ho. Sat chatting to Josh when we stopped by to get a tyre changed on my sons V4S last year and he suggested I test the V2 I was eying up outside his office and a Ducati test day the next weekend, rode a V2 Multi, monster, v2 streetfighter and the v2 Panigale. The rest were nice but nah, the panigale (left in Race mode for me) what a weapon, what a machine and that was following a group around a sedate test route. Josh offered Leto lend me the bike any day I wanted so two weeks later I stole it for a Saturday. Over three hours and a lot of miles later dropped it off, I loved that thing. Couldn’t afford it though or justify it after just a year on the Honda first big bike. Then new job more money and a son who did me a good deal as a repeat Top end Ducati customer whispers would you like it dad and now i own that V2! 22 plate with 495 miles of which probably about half were my miles anyway! My son sorted this out while firing up his new V4SP2 for the first time and we’re planning a holiday on the bikes in Italy this year! It’s going to be amazing! Can’t wait. Anyway hi all and have a fun safe year!
Welcome. Great choice (I may be slightly biased here!). Get on a DUK track day to really see its potential...you will not look back.
Welcome, I am around 10 miles from you. There is a nice long piece of straight tarmac near Cranwell, I am sure the "owners" would not mind if you did some long burns on it! ;-)
Thanks That’s part of the plan ! My sons an ex BSB racer, team manager etc and he’s promised too tee me up with a mate for some track instruction with some ex WSBK type ! It’s going to be mint though dread to think what track day insurance will cost !
I know it will having done several hundred miles on the demo bike I’m buying! Such a great handling bike, my CBR650R is a good handling bike but the Panigale V2 is a fantastic handling bike! That’s despite the dealer handing me it for a first ride in Race Mode!
There’s a thought! I’ve taken off and Landed on all those strips of Tarmac in years gone by! I’ve even taken off from a very long bit Nr Waddington after an air show many years ago
My sons gone and ordered tank pads, rim tape and a tinted double bubble screen for my bike too same as is going on his V4SP2!
