  1. Hi All,

Just joined the other day. I've not owned a Ducati since 1997 when I had a 916 Biposto with loads of Casoli Moto carbon. I loved that bike a regret the day I sold it, even though it was an electrical nightmare and managed to fry every electrical component in it's ignition system at one point or another. I was awesome, if a little over-geared.

Since then I've had a multitude of jap bikes and kept flitting between either a YZF-R1 or a Fazer thou. More recently had a ZZR1400 and when returned to working in central London a couple of years ago I swapped the ZZR for a Versys 1000, which was possibly the worst bike in my entire 30 years of motorcycling. After 5 months of torture-by-Versys-vibe I picked up a Yamaha Tracer on the first day they showed up in showrooms and a year and 11,000 miles later I've come to realise that the flexibility of a dual-sport is really what I need at my age. The Tracer has been an excellent tool, I've commuted and toured on it, but for such an excellent bargain package it's suspension has really let it down. Still, a year on and I fancy a change.

On Friday I pick up my 2nd ever Ducati. A brand new Multistrada 1200S "Touring" in white. I had a test ride last weekend and loved it and it made me realise the short-comings in the ride quality and suspension of my Tracer. Don't get me wrong, loved the Tracer and still do, particularly the wicked little 850cc triple, but I just miss my litre-plus bikes. You can't beat cubes.

So, I'm hoping that Ducati has upped it's electrical game since I last owned one - the general impression that I get is that this is the case. That said, I've got a new bike with 2 years warranty so I'm not too worried.

    Cheers,
    Phil
