Hi there, new Ducati owner from mid-Wales here! Have been riding since '93 and never been without a bike. But over the last few years have only had an off roader & done very few miles, the occasional rally etc. I've been thinking about getting back on the road for a while now (mid-life crisis #4 or #5 - I've lost count now ;-) and a bike popped up at the right sort of price.. So, I'm now the latest owner of a Multistrada 1000DS of 05 vintage. It has been 'pre enjoyed' (not by me!) so has some fetching scratches in the fairing and hand guard. Unfortunately the bars are slightly bent so I'm steeling myself to find out the cost of replacement. The forks are also a little twisted in the yokes. Once I've found out how to remove the acres of plastic I'll see how easy it'll be to straighten them up without a centre stand (had to do it several times on the offroader after face-planting First impressions - comfy, a _teeny_ bit faster than my 250 mud plugger, and lots of engine braking (compounded by its reluctance to idle reliably at the moment). Oh well, I forsee an expensive year ahead as I sort out all the little jobs that need doing. Hopefully I'll be rewarded with the occasional big grin Cheers, Pete.
Hi and welcome to the forum Pete, a bit diffrent from your off road mud plugger you'll get into the swing of it very soon. Guvs.
Hi and welcome Pete......plenty of guys in the Multistrada section of the forum with the know-how should you need advice/help ;-) Tip: update your user profile with your bike details ;-)
Hi and welcome. I was given an owners manual for a 1000DS by mistake. If you'd like it, (or anyone else for that matter) let me know.
