Hi NZ Dave, I should be on your territory next month, any recommendations what to see? Wanaka Warbirds is already on the agenda, as is a visit to Invercargill and Dunedin.
Hi 98 SPS, depends what you're in to, but in Invercargill, the Museum and E.Hayes and Sons hardware store have some Burt Munro stuff on display, if you can get in, the Bill Richardson truck museum, some very rare stuff there. Plenty of nature walks to major tramps in the provence as well, Stewart Island is worth a visit. If you can afford it, and the weather permits it, a helicopter flight around Fiordland and Southland coast is good. Not to sure about Dunedin, but there will be an information office somewhere, probably at the museum or council office. But there is the penguin colony, the Wandering Albatross colony, the Butterfly house at the museum, lots more as well I'd imagine.
Cheers Dave, travelling with two friends from Tauranga in their camper van, and their two Huskies, so plenty of outdoors stuff and a good measure of petrol based entertainment is on the cards. I may give the Heli a miss, I'm not too good with light aircraft , gliders, or fairground rides, I would rather be doing 200kph+ on The Mountain from Ramsey to Douglas any day. Mmm, TT is only 6 weeks after I get back from NZ. Thanks for the information. Steve
