Hi everyone, Just registered with the forum. I've not had much dealings with Ducati until a couple a months ago a work colleague bought a 900 superlight in need of a fair bit of attention. I loved the look and sound of it and a few weeks after, I got the chance to buy a 1993 900 SS in bits. The frame has been slightly altered/chopped and has been beautifully powder coated and my aim is to clean/build/fix it up to the state it deserves to be in! Only been riding for two years (GSXR 600) and am using the build as a way to learn as I go, and a stepping stone to the Panigale! You shall see me looking for answers in the 900SS section! Cheers
Welcome aboard! The ss series bikes are great, filled with a charm all their own. Theres plenty of scope for upgrades and improvements, and a little work gets noticable results, lots of people on here who have gone down your path, and a wealth of knowledge to draw on on this forum.
Welcome Stew....good luck with the build! Chewy.....either your tossing it off on night shift somewhere or Yorkshire has been moved to a different time zone
Unfortunately the former, rather than the latter. Its been a dull night, but someone has to keep the world of commerce and necessity turning inexorably...
I said someone. Sorry for the minor thread hijack Stew. I hope that El Toro Archer and Ant have good excuses to be posting at this time of day?
Morning and welcome to the forum Great bikes as already said. I see you have met the locals :-D Have fun and enjoy we shall watch your transformation
Welcome. Whereabouts are you? several of my favourite bits of road are up in that area. Ballater to Grantown-on-Spey, Spean Bridge to Dalwhinnie and the very nice Tore to Ullapool are all regulars for me.
Haha! Thanks for the replies everyone. Parabolica - I'm in Inverness and we regularly hit the A82 to Fort Augustus, Invergarry, Achnasheen - all about that general area really - can't beat it in the dry!!
Hi Stew, I just joined the forum too, after buying a half faired 1995 900ss with a Monster engine from Dingwall yesterday, decided to trailer it back home to Laurencekirk as I wasn't sure if everything was bolted together properly, need to give it a proper inspection. All the best with your project.
Thanks all. Good times wolf hound! Best of luck with yours too. Just back in from the shed after some electrolysis experiments for rust removal . . . another wee job done.
