Well after trying to join the forum for 3 days I'm now eventually here. big hello to everyone, I'm currently the owner of a 2000 R1 and looking to buy a 1098 or preferably an 1198. been hanging around here trying to find out some information on bits and pieces to look out for, having never owned a Ducati before. cheers Carson
hello and welcome. Yes, there's lots of advise and tips on here. The both the 10 and the 1198 are great bikes and it will be interesting to see how you get on after an R1
welcome to the club i made the same move last year, got rid of the R1 early in the year and got a 1098 towards the end, and not looked back since, i nearly got a newer R1, but found a 1098 sooner if any downside i would suggest the tank range will disappoint you on the 1098, i get about 85-90 to the fuel light now, used to see well over a 100 on the R1 But the one main positive is the 1098 looks the dogs danglies....... and goes well
Thanks for the welcome guys. the R1 is a great bike and good fun. It's not worth a lot of money these days, hence the reason I'll probably never sell it. always lusted after a Ducati and now it seems as though it could be a reality. I imagine that both bikes will be totally different to each other and that's what I'm hoping for. No point having 2 similar sports bikes sat in the garage.
