  1. Hi guys I have just seen this forum looks good

I had a 748 about 6 Years ago and had to sell it when i was starting my business, I was gutted at the time that i had to sell it but needed the money

About three years ago i see a 998 Biposta local to where i work on ebay, it had a few nice bits done to it and i bought it, this was really bike i had wanted for a long time

Well due to work commitments the ducati has been sitting in my factory getting covered in dust and not getting used, my whole attitude to riding bikes on the road has changed since doing a few trips to spain to watch moto gp (note not on the ducati) the roads and there users seems to be so much better than the uk roads

Anyway i was talking to a guy who runs an engineering company he knew i had a few ducati bits about and was interested what i had as he was after some parts for his ducati track bike

I hadnt spoken to the guy for a long time and anyway the conversation went along the lines of why dont you put the 998 on the track, my answer was that it was just too nice a bike to throw down the road/track if i had an off and that had always been my opionin of this bike, i started looking at the history of the bike as i was considering selling it as i just wasnt using it, i looked at the mot's it had had whilst i had the bike, i had only done 64 miles in two years

So i feel like i deserve to really ride this bike, ive accepted in my mind that i really dont enjoy using on the uk roads

Ive decided to use it on the track

Some of you will say buy one thats already done and its an option buy i like tinkering with bikes and i have a stack of bits that i bought for the 748 and never fitted that would make a very nice track bike, so ive decided that is what im going to do

  6. Hi, welcome to the forum

  7. Hello! - Go for it! - Track fairings etc can be picked up reasonably cheaply, so if you do bin it, you don't necessarily ruin your bike totally!...
