  1. Hello everyone, I'm new to this and also a recent convert to Ducati's. I bought my 2006 ST3 in May and love riding it, it's just a shame it has electrical problems at the mo! The dealer I bought it from is coming up from Oxford tomorrow to pick it up and get it repaired so I have no complaints there! Having only returned to biking 6 years ago ( wife, kids and divorce prevented me! ) my new wife encouraged me to get back on 2 wheels and I'm so glad she did ( thanks sweetheart ), I started gently on an old XJ650, then a CBF600, closely followed by a Triumph Sprint 1050, which was a pretty good bike but for various reasons it got swapped for a BMW R1100RT, which was a big mistake! That went in April and was replaced by the ST which has to be the most fun and comfortable bike I have ever owned. The 3 hour ride back from the dealers to home went far too quickly but the grin on my face told the wife all she needed to know!!!!!! All I have to do now is get her to pass her test and get out on her Monster which is sitting waiting for her!

  6. Hi, I also had a St 1050, cracking sports tourer, but not the same as a Duke

  7. Hi Nik, you're right the 1050 was a great bike, the engine was superb and kept the wife's bum nice and warm too! However nothing has come close to the Duke for inducing the grin on my face and the desire to get out and ride! Hopefully it won't be away too long but I guess that's one of the joys of owning a Duke :) Whats the Multistrada like? If I win the lottery that's one I want to get as it looks superb.

  8. Compared to the ST the multi is fantastic, bags of power, i prefer the more upright riding position & 250 mile + comfort. I looked at a ST3 before i got the Sprint, a guy from the ducatisti had a ST2s and that was a nice bike, sounds like yours will get sorted, and be able to get out and enjoy it.

  9. Sounds brilliant, I did try the old Multi but the missus found the seat a bit short, but if I did come into a few quid it might just get bought for me to enjoy solo!

  10. I agree on the multi I rode the 1000DS blooming great fun fast and goes well around corners only problem it worried me that I couldn't touch the floor in an emergency it's comfy upright and I found it lovely to pillion on except for over 80 mph and then the wind and my neck would be fighting each other.
Spent many happy hours the ST seat looks mighty comfy though sat on my friends on Sunday to try the bike for size
