Hi Peeps

  1. Thought I would pop into the Newbie thread and post a lil about myself. 51 year old male from Suffolk. Had bikes as a teenager and used to race motorcross in the expert class, also dabbled with trials bikes too. Had a few road bikes, Suzuki AP50, Yamaha RD250, Yamaha XS250, Honda CX500. A little break of a few years then followed due to getting into eventing and showjumping with my wife to be.

32 years later, after many years of missing having a bike, a mate called round on his mates Harley Sportster, he offered me a go, well I wasn't going to say no was I? HOOKED AGAIN.
I had always admired the Honda Fireblade but had a limited budget. Good old eBay, 10 miles up the road, 1994 M reg 14k miles, only 200 in the last 4 years, pristine, £1900 buy it now, I hit the button, insured it and duly went to pick it up. I was so worried about its legendary power I made the seller wheel it off his gravel drive before I would get on it. 5k miles, 1 sports exhaust and 1 set of tyres later I fancied something a little newer. It was January and there was bargains to be had on sportsbikes and a 2005, 5k miles also in pristine nick CBR1000RR was sitting in my garage. I didn't sell the old bike till the spring, when a guy from Scotland came down overnight on the train, paid me cash and rode it home, actually making me a small profit.
October 2012 now sees me the proud owner of a 1098 Ducati Streetfighter with about £2k worth of genuine Ducati carbon and extras. This bike is gonna see me skint, so far I have bought it a lever arm frame stand and have also bought a Arai RX7GP Ducati Corse helmet. Over the next few weeks I hope to post some pics of my new baby.

I am very pleased that some people have taken the time to set up a UK forum and I hope to be a regular contributor on the forums.

    Glen.
