Hi guys, I'm on the mooch for some technical help I'm afraid, rather than being purely social, but I'll post here anyway. Based over here on the west coast of Ireland. Running a 916 whenever I get the chance. I've got a clutch problem. It's a slipper, ramp and bearing type. Runs fine for about 100 miles, but then I begin to get a sort of groaning sound as it engages. Clutch efficiency and bite point then begin to wander, leading to, on the last occasion, the bearings popping off their ramps and jamming the clutch up solid The stack height seems fine, plates are new, and it all works perfectly for a period, like I say. Bike is 29k miles, so wear elsewhere in the drive train is a possibility I suppose. Any suggestions greatly appreciated - was planning on a couple of trackdays, but it looks like these are out of the question at the mo.
how do. thiers another fella on here from your part of the world on here with a very nice 916. knows his stuff. daisy duke. take it easy, fin.
Hi Scoffey I have found that you will get more 'targeted' response for your inquiry if you make the title something specific such as 'Slipper clutch problems' and post in the 'Technical problems' section. I can't help you. Good luck.
