I just got all the parts to lift the seat back to the high position, fitted everything and when the seat is back on the bike there is a big gap between the front of the seat and the tank, surely that can't be right? I adjusted the wee peg to the correct position and made sure seat was sitting properly so a bit confused as to why the big gap? What have I missed?
Come to think of it when the seat is in the high position the gap between the front of the seat and the pad on the tank should close up.
There is definitely something wrong then as the gap is big, will need to try again and see what is fitted the wrong way
Check you have part number 3. A black plastic bracket that screws in with two screws (6). Part 28 comes off the pillion seat. Parts 3, 4 and 5 screw onto the underneath of the riders seat.
Yup, part 28 removed and all parts seem to be all in the correct place. The only thing I was thinking about is does number 3 fit over or under the seat supports! But not even sure that will close the gap up enough. Will need to try again and see what isn't fitting properly
I think they fit over the sides I just put mine on for a tour recently. There is a small gap between the seat and tank of about 2mm I know mine looked weird last year when I put it on and I realised I had a part in the wrong position (sorry can’t remember exactly what though)
I am wondering if part 3 can be mounted upside down. Will check tomorrow and find out, I was rushing tonight (you can't knock back a free dinner) so will take more time to try different ways to see whats what tomorrow
Just swapped mine back to low seat. The front part goes on top of the side parts, I don't think you could fit it upside down though. Pics show seat in upside down position. I think when I got mine wrong I put it under the sides. Gap at front when fitted.
Wow, the gap you have looks about right, mine is a huge gap compared to that, definitely need to look at it, cheers Twin
Well spent some time earlier on faffing and finally got the seat right, its not the easiest to line up compared to low seat, i think the part 3 wasnt engaged properly and was causing the seat to sit high for some reason, will try it for a few days and see if i prefer the high or low seat then decide what way to go
