Anyone used one on a 749/999 are they worth it for the road?. They seem to be popular on new bikes.

Yes. I have the HM "Ducati Lever" which is the fully integrated HMQS in a lever for race pattern. They are brilliant and work exactly as you'd want them to.
I have used HMQS for a few years on other bikes too, and they are faultless. Best plug and play QS available.
