Holland Likes Ducati's - Just Not Paying For Them

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by AlfG, Jul 18, 2014.

  1. Ive just heard of a friend who went to Holland on his Multistrada a few weeks ago with a couple of mates (one other Ducati) and both Ducati's were stolen from the hotel one night.

Apparently he has since found out that a couple of other Ducati's were stolen the same night.

To rub salt in his wound his insurance company wont pay for his helmet that was locked to the bike at the same time, and they haven't paid up on the bike yet either, though his mate has got his cheque already.

  2. Not just Ducati's, my brother's BMW GS got stolen from Amsterdam a couple of years ago. Found it last year, complete, in a shed about 2 miles from where it was taken.

  3. Happens every year after WSB and MotoGP at Assen with people staying overnight in Amsterdam on the way home.

  4. You sure its not they just forgot where they parked them...

  5. Probably sold them for casino, weed and brass's but told the Missus they got nicked

  6. Not just Amsterdam. There were 3 bikes taken from Motel Assen a few years ago for WSB. A vfr, pan european and my cousin's 916. Professional crew. All chains cut and left on floor, bikes lifted straight into vans as no sign of disc lock pieces.

The 916 was cut out of a daisy chained line including a 6m old blade, R1, MV 740 F4, GSXR 750. We had been parked up for the first night at the hotel less than 2 hrs when we noticed the theft.

  7. I always pick hotels with garages...

  8. happened to a customer of mine in Italy. got his punto back a year later
