All you guys who do your own oil changes on the newer bikes, are you not fussed that the service light is on the dash all the time? I understand there's no way to reset unless by dealer. My local dealer wants £280 for an oil change and brake /clutch fluid change. I recon the parts are under £100, my time is free, so I'm paying £180 just to get the light reset Opinions ?
I sympathize .... having to pay a dealer Stupid pounds and 95 pence just to turn off a warning light ..... .... it stinks ! Using the forum search box , have a look on here for "JPDiag " I don't know if it will solve your problem , but it will certainly be your best starting point if you want to sort this out at home .
JPDiag/Melcodiag worked fine on my 2011 Multistrada, and incidentally reset the PIN code that the previous owner forgot.
Use JPDiag every time on my 2007 1098S to reset the service light when performing self servicing. Also use it to balance the Throttle Position Switches, test the fan operation and tune the belt tension (110 Hz) using a simple USB microphone. Very simple to set up once you've bought the proper cables and connect to the diagnostic port.
