Hello all ... just bought a Ducati 996 ... needed minor tlc but OK now. Due to age and condition is a bike to enjoy. Previous owner put some 8 pot calipers on front ; I suspect was tracked although no obvious signs. Always a Honda man .... but I always remember my mates 748SPS ... the 996 came up cheap so I took a punt. Working abroad atm .... the Alps are on my doorstep but the passes are now closed. Actually Austria is much better. So yeah .... old girl ... but characterful

Some wanted to see a pic. I bought a monoposto fairing kit and will change the look as per my avatar. I have termognini carbons ... but race cans without baffles .... can I fit db killers ? ... otherwise I'll be in trouble. I'm in Switzerland temporarily but will bring it back to the UK next year. The Swiss passes might be beautiful but too many cameras and cops. Serious penalties. Last time the cops put a chain on my bike at work and my fines were £1200 !!! .. and a ban probation ! So better to take it over the German, Austria, Italy border . Not far.

Hi, welcome. 996 is purrrfect for alps Use the French Alps. Theyre not speed nazi's like the Swiss are. The French have a more enlightened view than the gold stealing swiss fascist bastards.
