Sorry daft question but is there a simple way (other than by eye) to make sure your handlebars are at the same angle each side. I'm thinking if you could measure from somewhere on each bar to the middle?? What do people do? Thanks! Neil
Put bars in place, tighten them so you can turn lock to lock. Go full lock, put 2, 3, or 4 fingers between left bar and some reference point on left side of tank, tighten, do same other side from same point on other side of tank
I put the bike on a rear paddock stand........then I slacken off the clip-on pinch bolts, but not too much. Then I push the front wheel to left lock and sit on the bike............I get hold of the left clip-on (with the left hand, of course) and pull the clip-on until my hand is touching the petrol tank, but not trapped.......... I do the same with the right side, and then put the wheel straight ahead and sit on the bike again.........if I'm happy, I tighten the pinch-bolts up. Then I look at it..........and try lock to lock...............and sometimes start all over again, but that's rare.
Once you are happy you've got them where you want them, you could scribe a line from clip-on to yoke where it will only be seen by you, just to ensure that should you need to remove them for any reason, you can relocate them again with no faff

Search Spike Edwards on youtube, he has some great tips and one of them is using a coat hanger to always set them equal
Thanks - the coat hanger method is really neat (and I think I need to adjust my levers down slightly). Cheers Neil
