https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu...tistrada-1260-s-abs-eu-motorcycles/front-fork Am I seeing those numbers right? I want to order a new seal kit as spare to take with me on longer tours, but those prices can't be right? Am I looking at the right thing?
How I'm looking at it, is items 13, 18 & 19 which are the overhaul & seal kits @ £100, £91 & £72. Which although pricey doesn't strike me as too silly.
You wouldn't really need the overhaul kit as an emergency backup, just the seal kit, then you'd have to find a place willing to do the job, if it's skyhook then it's a tank off job which will be half a days work.
You are looking at the right page , but maybe not the right supplier ..... ? @GTmorgan makes a good point above ^^ I can't see why you'd want to carry a full seal kit , just for emergencies . BTW - there's a recent thread about suppliers of fork seals on here .... https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/1000ds-s-ohlins-fork-seals.98459/
I blew a fork seal in France a few years ago. Started riding back really carefully but after about 20 miles realised I could just ride normally (not sure if the skyhook helped the situation). I just wrapped a cloth around the fork leg to stop the oil getting into the discs. Got me all the way back to the UK
Yea, maybe overkill and I was just thinking seals, not the whole lot. It was a slow day at the home office yesterday and I want an excuse to buy something for the bike
