1200 How Much Lighter Were The Pikes Peak Forged Wheels ?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Android853sp, Nov 8, 2020.

  1. I’m looking to replace the OE, 1st generation cast (from granite) wheels on my 1200 with something forged but not ultra lightweight, for touring. I was wondering if anyone knows what the weight saving is between the OE cast and PP forged wheels ? Andy

  2. You should net 2-3 kgs of weight savings.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. If you have the standard wheels for your v4 speciale they are the same as the pp.

  4. The 2012 Multistrada has a similar wheel size to the 1098/1198, the Panigale 1199/1299/V4 front wheel hub is about 30mm wider. Andy

  5. My Marchesinis are sat in the garage.

I’m happy to weigh them if it helps.

  6. That would be great, thank you :upyeah: Andy

  7. Sorry, I thought my 2013pp had the same marchesini crows feet wheels as my 1299s, had no idea the front was different

  8. The design is probably the same but when you put the front wheels side by side, you can clearly see the difference :upyeah: Andy

  9. Front is 10.4kg
    Rear is 10.8kg

Both are real weights, tyres, discs spacers etc.
