My (used) 848 came with one key and I'd like to have a spare made. Can anyone tell me where I can get this done? I'm near Gatwick airport. It also came with a credit card sized code card with a bar code printed on it. I assume I need this to get a key made.
The card is needed to program the key. You need to get a coded key from the dealer. Don't buy a key off eBay as these are for cloning and they are blank. I think the programming instructions are in the service manual. Or pay your dealer to do it. Cloning your current key might be a cheaper route.
Thanks Chris - what do you mean by cloning my current key? Where would I get that done? Wouldn't it need the transponder to be set up though?
No red key on your bike. You use the code on the card to program keys. Cloning involves reading the chip in your current key and then programming it to a blank T5 transponder key. Timpson shoe repairers have the kit but not the keys. Some forum members have sourced their own keys and negotiated with the Timpsons staff to cut and program.
Ah ok thanks Chris. There is a company called Motomatrix advertising the cloning of keys. Wondering if that is a better route to go?
I would not want to post my only key to Wales! Give Antonye a PM he may be able to help. If you were near Leeds then Ducati John has the kit to do it.
Thanks Chris - you are right. I don't want to post my key I will find Antonye and see if he can help. Thanks for the tip off.

I've had spare keys cut and cloned by Avanti. I would definitely recommend them. Very good value and quick turn around.
