Does anyone know how to view fault codes on the dash like you can on the 749 for instance? In doing so, i assume not all codes will be viewable until diagnostic software is hooked up?
It can be done but can’t remember exactly how without looking at the owner’s manual. Somebody clever will no doubt be along shortly to let you know.
I don't know about clever, but I've attached a section from the 1198 owners handbook that covers the error menu page 16 and the error codes pages 39-43, as part of the EOBD function, in case you don't have it. I think the relevant 848 & 1x98 functions are quite similar. Hope it helps. Tom.
