Hi there everyone. I currently ride a '98 hornet 600, and have been saving up for a while for something newer, more reliable, but not too pretty to take for a track day etc. Was looking at 08 CBRs, or a street triples, daytonas... In two days I'm picking up something less reliable,something that I can hardly call 'newer', definitely too pretty for the daily commute to work (so have to maintain two bikes now) but maaaaaaaaaaaaan, it's so beautiful. It's a 748 :biggrin: I live in Dublin btw, with this weather I'll hardly get to ride it at all.
I remember a picture of a red 916 up on the wall of the tea room in the hanger where I worked, always admired it. Then saw a yellow 748 in a bike mag whilst I was out in Afghan and decided that it would be a present to myself when I got back in one piece. Had it delivered to the camp and learnt to ride on that bike around the airfield! Definitely a case of heart overtaking mind! Wouldn't have had it any other way! Welcome to ownership!

Ha, haven't been here for a few days due lack of time. Glad to see so many ppl responding. So, an update: my bike's in the underground park now. Under two covers, one chain and a lock Waiting for paperwork and the weather to clear. Where's the damn spring?!
Nice one. Mine's a 996, just bought it. You gotta love this classic design. Just rode it first time yesterday, in the rain unfortunately, but it felt great. Need to start cleaning and polishing tomorrow...
