Rear shock change on 2015 Multistrada S DVT. Put bike on centre stand and remove seats. Remove exhaust Remove rear wheel Remove rear mudguard (3 visible bolts, 1 hidden on n/s underneath) Remove both side panels (3 bolts) Remove 2 bolts that hold under-tray to the frame at the front under the cables. You will need to snip a cable tie to get access to the n/s one. Remove canister retainer (it slides after unclipping at the front towards the n/s) and unplug cable. Snip ziptie connecting hose to under tray. Unplug bottom cable of shock and remove from rubber ECU shroud. You can squeeze it between the frame and engine cover if you use a screwdriver to push on the engine cover. There is a ziptie holding it just above the clutch cover. Leave it there until later. Take out the bottom suspension bolt from inner swing arm and allow swing arm to drop. You may want to test it on a jack. Remove rear brake reservoir mount, and remove plastic bracket holding cables on swing arm next to it. The swing arm has to drop before you can access this bolt. Feed the cable it all the way back through the swing arm. Be careful not to lose the cable clips. It's a bit of a tight squeeze but it will fit. You may want to tie a bit of string to it to make it easier to feed the replacement back through. Slacken off the main n/s upper frame bolt. If you look at the top of the shock, towards the front of the bike, there is another bolt running lengthwise. This removes the tension holding the upper shock in place. Remove the upper suspension bolt. It should slide down and out the back with a little persuasion. The canister can be squeezed between the under tray and the frame. Reverse the above to re-assemble. When feeding the bottom cable back through then swing arm/frame, make sure you go under the cable coming down from above the swing arm. You'll see it when you look from the back. I'll add pics when I get a chance.
