Hydro Dipping

  1. Just came across a company who does this round the corner from work, so thought I'd do a bit of searching. Never even heard of it before but some of the stuff they can do seams very impressive.
Just wondering if anyone on here has had any bits done.

  2. Impressive, looks really good!!

    Wonder about cost and durability.

  3. i think it's quite durable as it looks like the norm is to put 4 or 5 coats of lacquer on top. some people have put venture shield on top.
cost wise, i asked for a rough idea and he said about £150 per wheel, the same for the tank depending how much prep is needed. if the panels are in decent condition, they only need a quick rub down with Scottish brite.

  4. Hi john. Just going through their offers, it seams like the wheels might be a bit cheaper. It says £40 for car wheels so hopefully bike wheels won't be much more. Going to try and get up there this aft.

  5. Interested to know real results on this, as I need to have 3 sets powder coated but this looks a nice alternative

  6. I had a quick look on google and results are promising

  7. @bradders , he says about £80 per wheel (carbon fibre) as they need double dipping for either side.

  8. I've had loads of bits done, and so have my customers, loads of images in my twitter feed pics (if you can be assed to scroll through them!), its only as tough as the clear coat, also the results are a little mixed, the carbon effect often has small defects but most are happy. Cost seems to be made up as they go!

  14. Looks good. That's why I asked for a photo. To see if a finish to match the rest of the carbon fibre was possible. This bloke said he'd do the belt covers for £40.
