Hyper 1100 Exhaust Valve

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by JAS0N, Mar 16, 2015.

  1. I've currently got a SC-project exhaust on order which should be here in the next couple of days. It's not a full system just the silencer for now.

1 thing that's concerning me is the exhaust valve/flap. What's everyone else done with it when installing a new exhaust? Can it just be removed or will I get a MIL on the dash? If I do get a MIL will it affect performance i.e run in limp mode? Not fussed if it's just a light on the dash as long as it doesn't affect anything as it'll be getting mapped in the summer and removed properly.

    Thanks

  2. Anyone know?

Is it safe to completely remove and carry on riding the bike with the engine check light on?

  3. My best guess, based on similar situation for my car, is that it would be fine. Hopefully someone can give you the definitive answer

  4. Thanks for your input.

I'm thinking it should be ok but just looking for clear clarification on best way around removing it
