Hello, After a Hypermotard 1100s, standard or few mods and exhaust. Good history and clean with sub 8k miles would be good. West midlands based, ready to buy.
Theres quite a few 1100s's on ebay at the moment....all seem quite reasonably priced...mileage i wouldnt say is an issue really for these bikes. Mines having an engine rebuild at the moment (nothing caused by engine failure) and the internals especially the gearbox were noted to be in perfect condition (13k on the clock) I wish i could find the thread on ducati.ms - a lad in australia rode his til the clock hit 99.999km (the clock stopped) - used in all weathers and by his admission he rode it in all weathers cos in australia when it rains its warm...so the thing looked like a right shed but he said it never failed him. Followed the service schedule and still running strong up to that point...
I would be going for the SP version myself, check this one out and do your home work https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-HYPERMOTARD-SP-2015/113066769265?hash=item
1100evo sp id say.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-H...014096?hash=item1cad34f850:g:DWQAAOSwwAFbEI1~ More grunt and more fun at lower speed. Hell, i wouldnt be spending 3k on the rebuild if i didnt think so!!
Yer iv seen a few on ebay, reason wanting lower miles is i want one close to new and keep it well looked after. I want the 1100s as want the air cooled engine. Although the watercooled sounds a brilliant spec.
As i say i dont think the miles will have anything to do with it.....the only way your going to be looking after it, is, with replacing a shed load of fixings, recoating a fair bit of hardware and ultimately...if you dont baby that engine coating it'll strip faster than a prostitute thats just been paid...
How do they fair if its just dry use only? I never ride in wet or winter. I do like that SP BUT dare i say it needs to be red ha!
Coatings.....ducati are shit at it no matter what bike I'm afraid....is just the design of the hyper highlights it more....
