  1. Hi all, Im planning a euro 2 week trip next year and thinking of taking my Hyper but im struggling to find soft panniers and a tank bag pref water proof, can anyone recommend any?? Many Thanks

  2. Presume you are talking 1100.... Well if you've long arms and deep pockets full of cash you can't go wrong with Ducati's own. It's not waterproof (vinyl so shower proof but with uncovered zips) but it's been designed for the job. Up front there is the tank cover to which fits the tank bag and front soft panniers (like John Wayne's saddlebags) then for the rear there is a the luggage rack, which replaces the rear light cover/grab handle, and on which sits a neat tail pack although there is a weight restriction and those who've overloaded have reported it snapping so you wouldn't want to overload it. I've got this setup and it's neat although there are other non-Ducati ones that others may be better placed than me to discuss. I've just bought a waterproof roll bag to slap on the back when I have no pillion for quick removal but it hasn't arrived yet so.....

  3. Kriega luggage is very popular with Ducati riders - I have a US20 and 2 US10s joined together as a tailpack on my 696 Monster - straps go between seat and subframe. Definitely waterproof - several soggy days in mid Wales tested that very effectively!

I forget whether the hypermotard has a plastic tank (which is the feature that makes new shape Monsters tankbag unfriendly).

There is official Ducati performance kit including a tankbag and semi-rigid panniers for the hypermotard, but I'm not sure how waterproof they are.

  4. I've got the SW Motech speedpack wide. [IMG]They fit quickly and are solid (have aluminium frame in them do don't sag). really high quality have waterproof linings. Adjustable in size (I think 60 - 100 ltrs). I'm more than happy with them, bought them for TT next year. I've got some photos on my bike I'll post them up soon.

  5. Fantastic thanks guys, so unsure what to do as if I get big tank, luggage, screen and comfort seat is around£1500-£2000 might be better to get another bike to tour with then sell it when im back!?

  6. Well for £2k I could have bought an old R1 that would of spanked my Hyper's ass but instead I spent it on a termi. At the end of the day we are all different and you've got to do what you've got to do.....
